Black Acrylic Tabletop Christmas Tree

This was a commission from a friend who wanted a black Christmas tree. It was constructed from 2 pieces of 3 mm black acrylic cut into a spiraling star pattern. The two pieces were suspended on a central clear acrylic tube and interlocked to make the tree shape.

Glow in the dark acrylic was cut to make the star on top and the garland interwoven among the “branches.

Battery powered fairy lights were mounted in the base, threaded up the central tube, and then arranged around the outside of the tree.

It looks kind of crazy and it’s ridiculously fragile but my friend loves it.
